BRANTFORD BULLDOGS HOCKEY

Due to the impending renovations and long-term closure of FirstOntario Centre, the Hamilton Bulldogs are announcing the team’s relocation to Brantford beginning in 2023-24, for 3 seasons.

There are many unknown variables regarding the current construction process that have left the organization in the dark including exact construction date and the completion date that need to be determined along with a new draft leasing agreement.

The Bulldogs organization has signed an agreement with the City of Brantford that allows the Bulldogs to extend it’s current agreement by one-year increments after 2026, for a total of three additional years.

The Bulldogs will be playing in the Civic Centre located in the heart of downtown Brantford.

From the moment we received word that we would need to relocate, the Brantford community has shown us that this would be an exciting adventure for both our organization and the City. This is a chance for us to build a relationship within a new area while continuing to develop our roots.   

• Support in Hamilton will continue.
• Many factors lead to us choosing Brantford as the location to house the team, one of those being the close proximity to Hamilton.
• The Bulldogs will continue to support Hamilton through the Bulldogs Foundation by continuing to raise funds for local schools and programs, while also expanding our efforts to the Brantford Community.

• Brantford will get to experience OHL Hockey once again, the Civic Centre will see a variety of upgrades between now and October. For a complete list of the economic impacts and report visit the City of Brantford website.
• The Bulldogs are also proud to have a charitable component called the Bulldogs Foundation which supports local youth initiatives in the community.

The Civic Centre seating map will look much different then FirstOntario Centre, so exact seat locations will not be transferable. Current season members, that commit to the 3 seasons, will have priority access.  With less seats available, the cost of ticket memberships will increase this season for the first time in many years.

No, the Primary Bulldogs logo will remain the same. The B represents our new home within the Brantford Community.

No, the current Bulldogs colour palette will remain the same. The emphasis on black and gold will continue into 2023-24. The introduction of the light browns has been part of the Bulldogs logo since 1996 and is being included as part of the new season. The Hamilton Bulldogs will become the Brantford Bulldogs at the end of the Hamilton 2023 season.

The increase in price was required to account for limited seating at Brantford Civic Centre and in order to have  a sustainable business model
